Hi, I am a refugee from Hatchwise (lovely site, but anything goes and I quickly tired of people stealing concepts .... and getting away with it, and the bitching that goes on behind the scenes!). But I am wondering if my portfolio on Hatchwise can be used to act as my portfolio for getting on to the Design Team here at DCF. Does anyone know? Anyone had similar experiences with Hatchwise?
Thanks & happy designing.
I've never heard of or participated with the site and sounds like other sites that are similar.. alot of stolen work being posted..
As for your application. I'd suggest moving all your works to another site that is not in direct competition with DC. There have been several sites posted that will work for hosting images that you can use and it doesn't take long it'll also allow you to submite your strongest works and weed out any that you feel aren't up to par.
good luck.

(some info snagged from their site below)
• Free online portfolio allowing you to upload and organize images, videos, audio, Flash projects, and more
• Resume builder
• Embed your showcase into an external site
• Import your Flickr image sets
• Job listings and job recommendation tools
• Get featured for even more visibility
• Read or publish articles
• Free membership grants 75 images, 15 audio files, 25 Flash files, and 8 videos
They have upgrade options for a fee, but I've found the free membership sufficient so far. I haven't uploaded everything I'd like to mine yet, but what is up there is nicely organized, they have a simple UI, and there aren't tons of ads or popups all over the place... and it's free!
