my idea, is rough vs. refine
like when you draw on the Wacom pad
it looks like the word Wacom in the logo
when you clean it up it looks like the shadow
there are other ways to do this idea
this is one

This doesnt fit the wacom vision in my opinion.
However.
Change is always good.
If you are going to take the more sketchy font approach it would probably be wise to tone down the colors. Maybe gray scales? Or make the green more black. Not wacom related: What font is that? I like it.

I forget to metion that my favourite so far is Chung Dha's from post #68. I like the simple but beautiful pen.
And BTW, Merry Christmas to all Design Team members and users.

@zooley - Looks better but the brush and the pen is different angled maybe you could straighten that so there better aligned.

Could you also show a non web2.0 version. For everyone it is best to make a flat version of the logo first that you are happy with and edit it to web2.0. Also flat version would save the company money for printing it out. Cause Wacom product are all packed and most of the product also contain the logo might be best also include a flat version.

Rankovich could you remove the outline and only show the inside of the logo. Because the outline is not making the logo better. Or help with color variations.

I few color scheme ideas... any thoughts?

You should make the typeface bit cleaner and the block on the side is not really working with the logo it stand more apart. What you did with the w is a nice concept but with them looking bit more like 3 pens would be better and use it as a logo above the name and replace the W with a correct more readable W.

i don't think pens in the logo works. what if the logo was put on the pen. you think a pen on the pen works? thats just me maybe but i mentioned this before and i feel like you should stay away from using an image of a pen, maybe an abstract tip or something is ok. the pad is probably ok too because it is more of a shape.

@Up_n_rising. I think you don't have a Wacom tablet or know what wacom sells. And also make the size of the picture smaller. As stated 400x300pixels.

@ everyone , do your homework about Wacom before making a logo. Knowing the company and the products helps allot. And makes it clearer what to make for a logo. Wacom sell tablet, tablet is a kind of electric mousepad where you use a pen or a mouse on it. It is not a normal pen or a fountain pen. Search info about Wacom on the internet.

chung dha is very right. RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH
I spend hours reaching, it is part of the job. sometimes i spend more time researching than i do designing. i spent a half hour the other day trying to find the cartoon character that looks like the new wacom logo, i couldn't find it. i thought it was in Labrynth, but didnt see it, maybe it is from fraggle rock or seasme street. It is a red fuzzy thing with horns for ears. Anyone know?

And all newbies.......
READ READ READ all the posts and you wont make mistakes about size and directions and anything else, it does take time, but that is what this job calls for.

happy holidays.

Thanks for the tips. I been designing for a long while now. I should know these things and pay more attention. I did some thinking with this redesign. Wacom sells tablets and pens. My submission is basically stating itself alone and with the font. Feedback is appreciated!

Well i didnt exactly do a very good one
maybe thats because i didnt pay much attention
well i did my research
am aware of what wacom is
and thanks to chung da's post i got an idea
since my name also starts with a w that is i.e Wasif Hyder
i had alread made a lot of designs for my slef this being my fav one
the wacom in the bottom is meant for the fact that its a logo for wacom (no doubt)
but also the crazy end is the pointer hingy with a little variation
please comment

@ thepogee - The shape remind be allot of a toe slipper/ flipflop with a print of pens. And text overlapping in logo's are is not a thing you should do like this. Mostly a full overlap with text in a different color. And Not use stroke too make the text clear to see.

@Dinu - nice concept typeface and colors could be change to bit better fitted its bit more for a advocate company more than for a designer tablet company. And don't use photoshop filters and effects.

@ Up N Rising - looks way better now only think it is better if you searched for a font than trying to make one. And the W is bit crooked.

@ White Tiger - Don't use photoshop shop and all the effects and filters because that not how logo's are made.

@GoldenZ - Bit odd shape when I look at is looks like a eyeball with the nerve attact with a lens over it. Not sure what you wanted to show in that logo. And also no photoshop. I can see it because Wacom is types with smooth and technology is typed with sharp that can only be done in photoshop and not in Illustrator.

@ everyone. Don't use photoshop and the filters or effects. Use illustrator to make this logo in vectors and use only use the gradients or gradient net to get web2.0 effects. And also show a flat version instead of only web2.0.
