I think Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator both great software. Especially if you can use both. You will be able to combine advantages of both. That's what I feel.
What takes me an hour to do in Illustrator takes 10 minutes in CorelDRAW. Corel is a much more intuitive drawing program than Illustrator ever hopes to be. But, ad agencies want stuff in Illustrator, don't they? Screen printers seem to always go for Corel.

I agree. Both programs have the good points and their faults. I use both. I do the the color palettes in corel much better. It is easier to do a gradient, shadow, powerclip, etc. Illustrator seems to be more universal in the industry, but corel can export an Illustrator file.

Corel is the best, as it is user friendly, and allows you to work fast and easy. Font preview, gradient, and all tools are more comfortable than AI, but when the idea is done, copy & paste to Illustrator to color and make all effects. Always save and export from AI...Adobe is more popular just because it comes with Photoshop, still my favorite Adobe is "Fireworks" - Illustrator and Photoshop together, but with better tools and options than both. The sad thing is it works in .png editable format. I always start with Corel to make the design, takes seconds to create it, in AI takes much longer, as everything is too busy, a lot of mouse work

In my opinion the Corel team should improve a little quality effects. For example in Illustrator the blur effect is editable . And the mesh is very strong effect in Illustrator. If Corel's team work on these effects would gain a great advantage. Good luck everybody!
