Missing entries' images.. everywhere?!

Hello there,

This contest has just expired -last hour or two- I was the last one to submit an entry (5 minutes before it expires).

As you see (img 1), only the rated entries are loaded/viewed, others show the default of a "missing" image.

Try go to one of these entries with missing image, and Open full size view gives this white page with weird text (img 2).

 

I tried different ways -none worked-:

- refresh the page (F5)

- deleted the cookies, cache etc.

- logged out of DC then logged in

- restarted the browser

 

Such behaviour have been reported in the past, as this "lost images /not loading" issue is not new

happens especially with older contests or Brief attachments

in fact we've seen in the past two kinds of issues with images:

  1. image does not exit anymore;
  2. image is there loaded but can't be viewed unless you download it eg. Brief attachments.
  3. but this in (img 2) is new to me! (All non-rated images!)

 

I checked other contests apparently the issue is all across the website!

I'm worried if CH comes back to pick a winner and only finds this!

 

the above can suggest:

  1. an issue might be in retrieving images from the database. (but not in adding images to the database)
  2. or devs are pushing a fix to this right now :)
  3. I better stop thinking/speculating for now :), hopefully it's #2.

yes that's right, not only you, it happened to me and other designers also experienced it. based on info from DC admin, this problem is currently under repair, let's be patient... hopefully it can be resolved soon.

Okay so I think an announcement would be of usefulness to address frustration of Clients & Designers, to make things clear and avoid further complaints.

can be via Announcements forum or a Blog post etc.

 

As the issue is still around, Designers are patient -very patient- they sort of ought to. Hopefully CHs have some patience too, and no one walks away elsewhere. :)

Sorry, what I'm afraid of is when this site disruption occurs, the client and designer can't see the entry, the designer who enters new entries keeps coming and when the site returns to normal, the entry is accidentally similar to the previous entry which was not visible when there was a site disruption. what if this happens?

I think its fixed now, I did withdraw multiple entries on a certain contest and all are the same with you guys but now there's a preview on those broken image.

I think its working now, if you can check your entries and if it happens that there will be duplicate entries you can access https://www.designco...igner/mydesigns to withdraw your duplicate designs/entries.
