Inglorious Basterds - very well done. I'm not a big fan of brad pitt but he had me crying with laughter at his wonderful italian haha
G.I Joe - Eh, not too thrilled with this one, too much effort into special effects, not enough effort into the plot/storyline.
bruno - funny!

inglorious basterds - very well executed, mindblowing characters, nice to see a film in a while which hasn't been mutilated in post. will watch it again pretty soon. 9/10
moon - not bad, solid sci-fi, bit slow in the end, characters not very colourful, some minor flaws in causality. 6/10
limits of control - now that was actually pretty good ... if you enjoy delicate cinematography and tongue-in-cheek parody. reminded me of 'being there' a bit. 7/10
avatar - disney's tarzan meets pocahontas in blue. some scenes should offer some visual delight in 3d though. 6/10
imaginarium of dr parnassus - plain weakness, stale fantasy in a slow and noisy pace. i expected a lot more from good mr gilliam. 4/10

survive style 5+ - "this is totally unrelated" was echoing in my head throuought the whole film. guess you can't really make a film which tries to be experimental art and a parody of itself at the same time. on the plus side - japanese acting is so freaky, it even looks good if they do it badly 5/10
sharkskin man and peachhip girl - pretty much the same case. can't remember anything else. 5/10
kamikaze girls - that was so overdone it became rather enjoyable in a brain-sprain sense. 6/10
shrelock holmes - action house does queen victoria. guy ritchie knows how to throw an engaging show - smart dialogue, tense actors, solid flow (though the beginning was considerably better). will be waiting for the sequel. 8/10

i just watched with friends - last weekend --- AVATAR ...
and this is what got STUCK in my head
" Sometimes, your whole life boils down to One Insane Move ... " - JakeSully(Avatar)
-- tho, the whole time i was watching it - couldnt help but compare it to the plot of Disney's Pocahontas --- LOL!
PS: Animation, CG wise tho --- definitely excellent! if i had 4 thumbs -- its 4 thumbs up!
LOL!

Although Ponyo was inspired by "The Little Mermaid" ... how the story was laid out and the design of the characters as well as the twist and turns, made it a detached from the inspiration itself ......
