Hey there... I was wondering if anyone here has experience creating fonts. What font creation programs would you recommend? Is there a way to do it in Illustrator? Thanks so much!!!

Ah, thanks! My Mac hasn't arrived yet, but I will certainly keep that in mind when it does. Just to satisfy my own curiousity of the "hard way", how would one create fonts in Illustrator, anyway?

with the pen tool;)....you can always start with a base font, like arial, create outlines and use your pen tool to refine/add points.......the pen tool is illustrators powerful weapon!;)

No, I mean... How do you get it from the point of being a vector shape to being a font?

:)

you WILL need a program that converts the vector file into a recognizable font file, fontagrapher...

fontographer is made for both mac/windows , you can download a free demo here, I had it years ago, it has quite a learning curve to use
