Seems some fad elements last longer than others. The leaf became real big when everyone was doing the "Green thing" It seems to be slowing down a little. I have seen comments by contest holders like 'I don't want a leaf, I don't sell leaves" things like that so the leaf fad might be drying up a little

yeah, its been so used, its hard to get creative/unique with a leaf any more;-)

(those do a pretty good job at being creative though)

Some people can get so dong creative in the most simple way. It is VERY difficult for me to think in simple forms, I think it is the illustrator and painter in me. What is weird is I know when I see a good logo design it is just when I am creating simple.

A good logo pops out of the screen or off the paper. I always think to myself why in the world can't I create like that, what is blocking that part of my mind. I can look at a group of logos and instantly see what is wrong about it, or look at a logo and in just awwweee over it. The talent these folks have makes me have a little bit of a jeasous bone but I keep on working at it and keep on admiring the talents of so many designers out there

I hear ya, I schooled in fine-art, later, design, and when picasso helped me(not physically, through his art) BINGO for me:-)...it is partially hard when you are a painter, fine artist, to re interpret into logo, I say, let lose, go for it:)
