why should we consider it advertising, you didn't even mention the name of your future website. But anyway, we do not mind when people aks for ideas and share them with other members, on the contrary, we encourage people to help those who need advice.
As for the question. It always depends. How many people do you want to host? Do you just want to get as many people as possible or just provide a quality service to a few? I think you have to choose between these two options. 50 megs is not that much (just try to ask a few designers how many images do they need to host simultaneously - of course this number varies a lot, but... when you participate in a contest you usually make several submissions, say 3-5 and each will be 20-50 k if we are talking about a logo and 50 and up if it is a website layout or something else. And how many contests does a webdesigner takes part in simultaneously? Besides, if a designer doesn't have a portfolio website he/she would like to keep some works permanently to show to the clients) , and unlimited bandwidth... is there anything unlimited? Though your ISP says it is unlimited, in fact it isn't, there are limits to anything, including the capacity of your cable.
And where was I?.. oh, yes. If you really want to help fellow designers who are just in the very beginning of their career, just post your offer and provide this service on personal basis without opening a website or something like that. Besides this will allow you to keep everything under control.
These are of course just my humble thoughts... I am not a pro in web hosting myself.
