Someone is asking me to show them their design as if it were etched onto glass (think on the door of an office building). Any tutorials or processes that you do to create this (I use Inkscape but have CS6)? Thanks!

You have a lot of options but the simplest is to used a mockup template. There's a free one here: Window Signage MockUp | GraphicBurger - all you have to do is copy and paste your design and the background(included) into the psd and it does the work for you.
you can also do this yourself - It depends how strong you are at photoshop but the process is not that difficult. Here's some quick steps to demystify the process:
1) create background: just get a high res image and blur it!
2) paste in your logo as smart object.
3) add a gradient overly effect to the logo to add depth. right click layer > blending options > gradient overlay
4) Gaussian blur slightly. It's best to use smart filters for this - google if you don't know how.
5) add perspective - edit > transform > perspective
6) set opacity on the logo layer to somewhere around 60% (an educated guess!)
you should now have a reasonable approximation of an etched glass effect. You can do a lot more to make it better but it gets harder to explain without examples. Practice and observation is the key.
Creating a Mockup is basically just about simulating perspective, lighting and texture. If you break it down into these 3 parts there are many tutorials you can find to help you.
