I was wandering why there is so little activity in both Finished Work Showcase and Works in Progress...

I post there. Hahaha
At times there is a lack of involvement. I also believe that it'd help if the Elite designer would give some of their feedback. Alot of 'newbs" to the site are here to hopefully participate and become a part of the elite so generally speaking I think it'd help if more of the "choosen" would participate and give their feedback to designs as it would give a general direction to know what type of "look" the site is after. Just my $.02

nice to know I'm not the only one that feels this way.
I know not all of the "elite" are still active, but with 80+ that fall into this category seems like more would be more active in other areas of the forum than just the Contest area.
Not all the elite are snobs though, some of them do join in around here? LOL:p

hey bro - I'm no snob!
agree. And feel if more elite would contribute the way that you and a couple others do it'd make this place that much better.
I also do understand that not everyone has the time to read through the forums and give constructive critisisum, but feel if they have the time too look at the contests why not venture downward on the board for a few minutes and comment on others work.
If you just want to go somewhere to make a buck I can give a couple sites to look at that don't support the design community at all. just log on and submit you idea.
I thought this was set up in a forum setting to help support the community in general while also getting a chance to make a little extra cash. Just assuming of course since I'm not the brain behind DC. Just look at how much the elite HAD contributed in the past, but was that before or after they were accepted as an elite designer?
Personally speaking if an elite can't venture out of the contest section then they shouldn't be part of the elite.
I feel no matter what you do you should always support those looking to achieve the next level. This means helping the newbs and giving support to assist them in getting there. Whether it be in a simple critique stating what's working and what's not or going the extra step and offering solutions to achieve something better.
example: when I was riding bulls, I had a mentor showing me the ropes and in return I pasted that on to the next new kid coming along.
I had someone show me how to build a truck up from the ground, I then helped someone else learn the same things. the list goes on...
It doesn't hurt just gives you the opportunity to be that much better.
