I am getting over a nasty cold, can finally breathe through my nose and my lungs no longer feel like they're full of Elmer's glue - but I'd take any of those nasty symptoms over this ridiculous coughing that won't quit.

I've tried Mucinex, Sudaphed, Theraflu, warm milk, hot tea, cough drops, hot shower... NOTHING WORKS.

I may just go jump in front of oncoming traffic... that might do the trick. :(

Drinking anything warm helps also lemon water, lemon tends to cut the mucus a bit. Sometimes covering your mouth and nose to breath your own warm air helps (just for a short time) Cold air can make you caugh more. I like to have those halls breasers around the strawberry and cream flavor. When I had pneumonia I tried about everything, Thera flu has a good product also. hot apple cider works a little also. the thing that worked the best though was this prescription caugh syrup...oh boy oh boy.

Jägermeister :p
Tea made of raspberry stems is pretty good (tastes good too). Hot milk with honey sometimes also works (preferably from a local farmer). Depends either you have a wet or a dry cough.

Last time i felt like you, i tried carrot syrup with brown sugar. Sounds weird but it worked.
Cut the carrots in little pieces, put a lot of sugar and wait some hours so it turns into a sweet juice/syrup. Eat 2 tea spoons 3 times a day. Worked with me.

Sry if u didnt understand my english. I did my best to help u :p

carrot syrup! wow... i don't know if I'm that brave! I've never heard of such a thing!

I've got it under control now with some OTC Theraflu cough syrup, but if this stops working I guess I need to buy some carrots!

thanks for all the suggestions!

yeah syrup coats your throught. basically why its called caugh syrup. ;)

What I'd suggest is a Hot toddy (sp).. or hot tea w/ lemon.

During the day just get some hard candy to suck on it's cheaper than Halls (or similar) and works just about as good.

Also gargle alot w/ warm-hot salt water.. and even though it's gross spit out that crap you caugh up. all it does it go back down just to come back up.
