Love the addition of the Cow Bell but I still have to agree with earlier posts, even though you changed the color the feel of Pig is still there. I think it is the Y that is the Nose, That reminds me more of a Pig then a cow. Maybe if you widen it and flair the nostrils just a bit more. By the way I like the cowbell in the upper version.Nice work though keep it up.

i thought about flaring the nostrols, and did it, but it turned out looking more like a pig imo

this looks like it says nucow. that was my first thought.

my thoughts exactly

I did this just real quick to see what it would look like. Kinda had to go funcky looking on the horns they could be improved upon alot. but wanted to capture the subtle ears and promenent horns to give you an idea.

wow, that's great! thanks!

I would go for just 1 letter
I used Coy's idea plus a cow tail :D

PERFECT! wow, i was just replacing the bell with a tail after having read the comments about the 'y' looking like a 'u' then you did it before i could finish. i like the horns and ears 'coy' did!

Zuki, I'm liking the tail. try seperating the NY and the Cow in two different colors even a dark gray for the word cow.

and the lines on your tail need to be adjusted a bit to make it flow nicely.

I still like the utters though. ;)

I love the addition of the eyes, the top of the head looks cool however I think it takes away from what you were trying to do in the first place.

oh yeah, i know.
i didnt want to use that for the logo.
i originally started that out for a favicon.
just wanted to put that up.
i think i'm at a final version for the logo.
im torn about whether or not i'm going to get rid of the hooves and belly/stomach (but i did get rid of the udders because i've been getting mixed responses about them). right now it's between these two:

They turned out really good.
How do they look on a smaller scale ? Or black and white ? Can you make some previews ?

I'd say leave the utters there. A cow has utters a bull has a bell+1 and it's ny COW not bull ;) LOL the hooves could probably be dropped if anything. I like the snout and utters.

I'd like to see you use a brow for the word cow it'd be more versitly than the white. unless you outlined the white by at least 2 pxl in black.

the bottom one is my favorite.

but I do think the horns need a little work to look more horn like.. but that's a tuff one cause too much might make it look worse.. It's just the horns I posted and the ones you have remind me of a goat for some reason? maybe they're too wavy perhaps.? a bovines horns are usually more straight and slightly angle upwards.
So if I were going to do it. I'd bring them straight off the Y and use a large circle to referce a slight upward angle. try it and let us have a look.. :D

Yes a brush up on your farm animals is needed.LOL j/k
cows and bulls can both have horns.
But bulls are most likely. ;) cow's are generally smaller thought.

I've been horned by a cow...when we were branding in an open field, one broke through the wranglers and got me cause I didn't want to let go of the little fat fellow, he was a tuff one I had to bit his ear to keep him calm. when the cow hit me I took a piece off the calfs ear, didn't let go of his neck luckily the wrangklers were able to get her before she came back for seconds.
She did take a little chunck out of my sholder though. hahaha

wait. WHAT? You bite a cow's ear to keep it calm?? I wonder if that would work with my daughter.... HAHAHA

About the NYCOW logo... I vote to keep the udders, I like those. But, I still like the 2nd version of the ears better, without the horns...

Or twist their ear.. But when you have a hold of their nose and throught you really don't have much of an option but to bit down on their ear. It works on dogs, goats, horses, sheep and sometimes kids.. but kids will usually cry, you have to bit down gently. also note that it only works for maybe the first couple times on kids after that they figure out what your doing. the first couple times they are taken back and don't know what's going on. ;)

haha! seriously? i've never seen a live cow, which is probably why i didn't know they had horns before this thread either. i'll trust the guy who's actually seen one and has been 'horned by one'.

udders stay. i like them more too.
as for the horns; i've seen horns like these in my google search more often than not
Posted Image
[edit] also, why the udders but no hooves? do we all hate the hooves?
