I studied Graphic Design at college and then studied further to university level. I feel as though I have learnt so much more since leaving university a year ago than when I was actually there. Working freelance has enabled me to develop my portfolio, make some cash and most importantly... learn many new skills. I don't believe it is at all necessary to study Graphic Design at university. If you have a passion for it and it comes naturally then there is no need for a qualification. I believe I would have been better off learning about the world of business at university in order to setup as a freelance graphic designer.

Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design. California State University, Sacramento. A really great program. They only accept about half of the designers that apply each year. After that is two solid years of upper division GPHD courses.
