Hello!

This is a design for a post-modern art gallery in the Netherlands. They have different displays each month.

Currently their visitors are age 35+, and they would like to attract younger visitors.

Any tips on how to improve this?

Thanks!

I like it, nice logo, no critique really, to me it's good as it is.

Yeah I agree it is a nice logo.

Just one thing from me.
The colours used, were they the colours they gave you to use?

If they are trying to attract younger visitors I would maybe use some brighter eye catching colours.
Maybe use darker colours for your diamond and type and a brighter paint splatter for the K.

Heya, i was experimenting with colours a bit. I tried out these colours because the name of the gallery is 'kadmium', wich is a blue/greyish metal.

Thanks for your advice, i will experiment with colours a bit more.

Hi, I think, this is a good logo, but you could make it to 3D, because for me this is a little bit flat :)
But i'm afraid when you make it to look like 3D it will be good for the youngers but not for the 35+.
You know not the same age group, different needs.
I hope it helps. :)

Is it possible to give some abstract look of a human being in the icon? Though it almost took a shape of the same.

I really like the idea. Love the little hidden suprises in logo's.

I made the figure more human being like, and i played around with typography and placement.

I think now the logo has a good approach. Both the lower logos are quite good enough. But i think the lower right one suits best for the purpose.

Hi Pollux,

I am new to this site but the first post showed the best logo in my opinion. It gives a sense of seriousness and modernism. We don't want some funky colours for a logo just cause you want to attract young people.A museum is essentially a place where you come out of interest and your first logo is bang on target.

Good luck!,hope this helped..

Thanks for the comment. You described my feeling towards the logo. I still decided to play around with the colors a little.

These are my final color schemes/designs, now i need to pick one ><

Could you guys please tell me which one you like? You all have been a great help!

Hi Pollux
I do quite agree with Backbeat, simply using vibrant colors just for the heck of it,neglecting the seriousness of the purpose of a logo isn't quite good enough.I still would stick to my earlier suggestion,i.e. the 1st left one above from your new series.

I like the bottom left logo with the small yellow square, but actually the very first suggestion was good enough, I think..

I'm really digging the final result! Going through the earlier posts, I was going to suggest changing the font and was happy to see that you did that at the end.

Nicely done!
:) Brandy

I like the original logo. To attract a younger audience, they would need to do this through marketing, not a logo redesign. Perhaps offer something similar to "college night" or "young professionals night" and find ways to appeal to this market. Perhaps as a meeting location for groups or parties?

I like the idea of usng the abstract design as part of the name. The "K" looks like a human form, and also a "K". Very clever.

I enjoy the fact that logo can be pulled apart in an identity system. The image itself can stand alone and so can the gallery name, this is a key point when detailing later projects.
