Some clients questioned about masculine and feminine color. Is gender-based color classification applies universally?

Yes, some colors are associated with one gender over the other, but it is our culture's doing.

Like blue for boys and pink for girls. Or purple as feminine or even a gay color.

A good example of that is the other day I bought two toothbrushes, a green one and a purple one. I asked my wife which one she wanted and he said the green one.

It seems to come natural but that is how we have been raised.

It is tough when a clients asks for gender colors and as stated above it is a cultural thing we have created. When a client has asked for gender colors I tend to go more soft/pastel for girls and darker tones for guys. doesn't always work, for example I did this one logo for a company they wanted a gender girlish color theme. The end design ....company chose the black and white with no color! You never know

soft colors might be the feminine and strong colors and dark are for masculine.. those are my basis always. :-)

pastels are the feminine colors and every thing else is masculine, but it is all in the mixing of colors!

In my opinion is does not represent the facts. At each person (the man, the woman) can be the most different favourite colours.
