i like it but why they use flowers in the logo ?
Hi juju,
Here (link) a review on the logo .
The logo was launched back in 2009. It features a football on a stalk with 2 other flowers. The flower on the left represents Poland – red and white being the Polish colours. The flower on the right represents Ukraine and its colours.
According to UEFA, the logo is a representation of ‘wycinanka’, the traditional art of paper cutting practised in rural areas of Poland and Ukraine and is a tribute to the fauna and flora of the region.
The central ball “symbolises the emotion and passion of the competition while the stem denotes the structural aspect of the competition, UEFA and European football.”
The colour palette represents nature – woodland green, sun yellow, aqua blue, sky blue and blackberry purple.
It’s colourful and full of meaning but there is rather a lot going on. I love the typography used in the design. It balances perfectly. It is simple, clever and effective. Why bother with the rest?
Cheers,

I have heard of many global logo design contests, some regional or local ...
Some of the logos in this thread`s parent topic have been the result of a contest.
I recently participated in an interesting one: you may heard of it.
