I've come here to ask a question that's been asked all over the internet with hopes of finding an answer.
I'm currently designing a catalog and the printer requires the PDF and native files in Printers Spreads rather than Reader Spreads. I'm running Indesign CS5. Is there any way to export the file to save as printer spreads that isn't ridiculously clumsy? I've read tons of things online that say you need to have Adobe PDF printer installed and that you also need Acrobat Distiller. Has anyone out there found a simpler way to make this happen? Seems like Adobe kind of dropping the ball on this.
Also, I know that normally the printer would just do it, but the company I work for picked the printer and I have to work with them, and the won't do it for some reason.

mevector, I have similar problem of yours before. I just simply make pdf from export menu of InDesign CS5 and open the pdf file in acrobat professional and set up on spread view. I used another software for imposition, Preps 5 and Neo to convert font to outline and manage the images as well as the overprints and trapping.
I think JOB-DESIGN has the easier solution, install adobe professional reader.
Sorry for the bad english guys!

Aside from Neo pdf editor, some of my friends in printing industry recommend to use enfocus Pitstop, see here Enfocus - Solutions for PDF productivity and workflow automation. For imposition, like me, I am comfortable with Preps. Less hustle than manual. We know the use of software is to avoid misstakes than using manual. The thing is, we know the manual, and it should be confirmed correct when we use the software.
Another friend recommends Inplate for easy use of imposition.
Thanks!
