Adobe Photoshop vs Adobe Illustrator
Which would you say is superior? I personally like Illustrator myself.
Does anyone know the differences?

they are very different in usage .. illustrator is made for designing from scratch , so you draw & design your own work.. and it's vector based so it's preferable to use when creating logos or any designs that often requires changing size without losing quality.
Photoshop is a photo editing program in the first place & IMO is the best in that field.. it's used to deal with photos any designs based on pixels. it have many photo editing tools, actions ,filters....etc that's not in illustrator.
i love both for what everyone can do!!
note: Excuse my for my english i didn't want to use some big definitions from the internet , i just wrote what i know in my own words .

The main difference is what the two programs are doing at the base level. Photoshop manipulates images on a pixel by pixel basis. Illustrator uses vectors (which are based on mathematical equations, allowing your computer to interprite where a line should or should not be.

I think you can't compare the above because they don't even compete each other. Both are made for completely different needs. As many people stated above, photoshop deals with mainly pixel images, and the illustrator for vector images. Illustrator doesn't have enough tools edit raster/pixel images and photoshop has limited tools to handle vector elements.

I am a Photoshop man myself. I like the notion of creating creative concept art pieces. I continue to have a love for movie magic. So Photoshop is my app. But with respect to Illustrator, it is my idea app for designing logos, flyers, posters and many other design material for print.

Hi there,
I think that Illustrator is most handy for my job, and without it my illustrations was no so easy to do. But Photoshop is the greatest image software and it helps me to achieve other level of output.
It's like two eyes, they complement each other perfectly.
