The character is Q, the font looks like Pauline but it's a little bit thinner, more elegant

So close .. Q - right! (from Stylistic Set 1 - Glyph) .. c´mon!
Yep, Pauline is thinner and geometric ... not Pauline keep trying.

HINT: this is a gorgeous funky type!

Easy shot: Myriad Pro Bold Italic ... good job

Now .. yours: it looks like an "x" .. a decorative fancy one .. so let me do some research on "decorative" + "fancy" + "sans" and I'll be back with the answer

update 1: almost got you! ... It looks quite like Lexington. ....
update 2: I checked out all fonts in MyFonts by "Canada type", the publisher of Lexington and didn't found it .. some are quite similar though ... so I'll start the search over again
update 3: hm .. getting difficult .. hopfully this is a lowercase x, not a glyph. ...
update 4: let's see . some similarities lead me to some kind of retro fancy font .. let's do some search
