Nice, I like it! Clean and simple. But not in a boring way. The little orange spots on the left menu outlines don't add much too the design though.
The "something" on the left has no purpose too I believe? Doesn't really add something either. I'm like, "what is it and what does it do?"
Like you wanted to add something extra when the design was done and put that on it.
Try something with a background. A gradient thingy. So... just around the site something extra which fades into nothing as it gets to the borders of the window.

I was gona animate the random thing on the left with flash and add lots of other things nice idea with the gradient thing I might try it
