What to look for when buying a digital camera

Things to look for in a digital camera:

1. Lens: If you want to take a lot of low light photographing, look for a lense with maximum aperture (fast lense). Faster lenses will enable you to capture pictures in low light.
2. Sensor: The more pixels there are on the sensor, the higher the resolution and therefore a higher quality of the captured pictures. If you want to print your pictures or highlight specific areas, you would need more than 1 megapixel . The resolution you need increases with the size of the printing picture.
3.Storage Media: Your camera should have some type of removable image storage medium such as SmartMedia, CompactFlash , Memory Sticks or mini Cds.
4.Viewfinder and LCD:you should have View finder and an LCD screen in your camera. Look for a sharp LCD for clearer images in bright and dim light.
5.Batteries:Your cameras should have long lasting, rechargeable nickel-metal-hydride or lithium-ion batteries and should also come with a charging module.
6.Flash:Your camera should have a reliable built in automatic flash. Such as red-eye-reduction flash, slow-sync flash , forced flash, and adjustable illumination levels.

I would add to the previous post only:

- Think about the lenses. The body (Megapixels, features) is not as important as the lenses. Just compare the second hand lens and body with today's prices. The lenses are not so depreciated, but the bodies are. Keep in mind buying first a good lens that will work for you forever and what's left is for the body.
Also you can find everywhere an AA battery when you are running low battery, but if you are in the nature, or even in the city you can not recharge a Li-Ion battery everywhere.. However, the most cameras have a Li-Ion, which is absolutely reliable (for me around 400-450 shoots per recharging). Buy 2 Li-Ion if you need more, but also keep in mind that if you go in the nature every gram is important. The time will come that you wouldn't have wanted to have taken all of this useless things.
