Things to avoid when using CSS:

1. Avoid Superfluous Selectors
Choose the shorter and simpler CSS declarations
Ex. If you’re code is

ul li { ... }

ol li { ... }

table tr td { ... }

instead you can simplify it as:

li { ... }

td { ... }

<li> will exist within <ol> or <ul> and <td> will be inside <table> and <tr> so there is no need to necessary re-insert them.

2.Avoid using <table>, and use <div> instead
