You can stop an animation or an effect at any time using the jQuery stop() method . This method works for all jQuery functions effects like custom animation, sliding or fading.
The Syntax for the stop() method is:
$(selector).stop(StopAll,goToEnd);
Both parameters are optional, the first parameter specifies if the animation queue should be cleared. The default for this is false, so if you don’t use this parameter only the active animation will stop. The second parameter ‘goToEnd’ specifies if you want to finish the current animation immediately. The default for this is also false, so be default stop() finishes the current animation.
Ex.
$("#stop").click(function(){
$("#pan").stop();
});
