Google Talk

I haven't heard anny announcements before, but today all of a sudden I have noticed a link in my gmail account to Google Talk messenger. It is a simple messenger that is supposed to enably voice communication. I have not been able to check out how it works as none of my friends have installed it just yet. A very simple messenge not overfilled with features. Would be fun to see how it will compete with MSN, Yahoo and ICQ...

it's been around for some time now. very few people use it. it either needs time or needs to be forgotten.

Hmm, I don't think it will compete with the other instant messaging programs that are out there right now. If what I heard was correct, Google did not make it intending to compete with the others, just to provide its Google users with the option. It doesn't really make much sense, but maybe it's just a starting point. Who knows . . . maybe it will catch on someday but definitely not in the near future.
