There is some truth in Acid's comments. One of the best designers I ever saw worked for many years in Freehand 3, long after newer updates were old. Owning an airplane does not make you a pilot. You need skills to fly it. Some people fly a pencil better than other people fly a computer.

Yes, all depends also with a convenience everyone. Sometimes a great tool not necessarily make us feel comfortable. My own more comfortable making a sketch on paper instead of using a tablet :) so too with the program, all back to designers

Before computers, most designers backed into their careers from a fine arts background. Many were originally illustrators, why? Print and video were laid out as pencil sketches. When the concept was prepared for presentation, a tight full color magic-marker rendering was made by the designer. It was drawn on a heavy vellum stock, allowing for tracing of letter forms and product shots. This is what the client approved.

These designers would frequently confess that they could not "think" without a pencil in their hand.

Designers did not have to worry about production problems or technicalities.

And before magic markers they used grease/wax pencils, which looked amazing

adobe illustrator is a profesional way to do it, but is so expensive yo can also use freeware like "inkscape" or "Dia" the freeware is a good option always !!
