There Freehand ... 8, 9, 10, MX (from Macromedia).
I am using Freehand 8, old, but good software. Do not contain effects (Drop Shadow, Bevel, etc.).

I held on for years after they pulled it. Took me forever to get used to Illustrator.

Now Fireworks is dying.

I would suggest changing. Need to move with the times and Freehand died along time ago. The sooner the better.

Freehand liked me. The first program used for vectorization. Then it was Corel.
Good luck for everyone

Freehand was a vector drawing program like Illustrator and Corel Draw. It hand many superb features. It had spot PMS colors and excellent type handling before Illustrator. Even though it was great, being #2 in the software business is like being second in a gunfight.:)

Freehand stopped shipping before on-line downloading of software was available. Software was distributed on CDs. In any case it would probably not be compatible with contemporary operating systems.

Adobe bought Freehand (and Flash, Dreamweaver, etc..) from Macromedia and added many of its features to Illustrator. So if you know Illustrator then there's no need to learn Freehand ;)
