Photoshop 7, flash mx, freehand 10, dreamweaver mx 2004.
I don't really like freehand but I use it every once in awhile. Hoping to find it in my budget to get illustrator.

I started with photoshop (think version 5?). Now I primarily use Photoshop 7, Illustrator 10 (just starting to see how great this program is!) , & Macromedia StudioMX (flash & dreamweaver mostly). SwishMax comes in real handy too if you want to make a quick flash animation.

I use a combination of Adobe, Corel and Macromedia products. I prefer to design in Flash, but if it involves complex curves I may take it into CorelDraw, or Illustrator and tune it up at some point. For photo manipulation I prefer Corel PhotoPaint, but some times I may want a filter that Photoshop has that PhotoPaint doesn't accept...

For webpage design I bop between Allaire's HomeSite and Dreamweaver.

I use Illustrator, but sometimes when I am working on a logo and need to check how different fonts will work for the company name I have to use Freehand because it allows font preview. I am not sure, maybe Adobe adopted this feature in Illustrator CS but it's not there in virsion 10 :(

First step is Pencil and paper. (I'm surprised no one said that, except ratbaggy...sort of.)

Then, I either scan drawings and import them into Flash MX OR I simply redraw them in Flash or Illustrator 10. That's how I do the majority of my work.

I'll also use Photoshop 7 for photo work and QuarkXpress (ugh) on the rare occasion. I've also recently started to use FontLab 4. I like the idea of creating my own fonts. Make my project completely genuine, y'know?

Of course, finish my work off with Dreamweaver MX to put it all together. I was using HomeSite before for my html coding, but Macromedia absorbed them. :D

I prefer Illustrator -- I don't know of any print shops that accept swf files -- guess I could be wrong about that, but Illustrator is the industry standard for logos. And since the client often expects to get an ai or eps file of the logo it just makes more sense to me to do it in Illustrator from the get go. There's an extra step involved to get the logo into flash, but the minor inconvenience of that is worth it to me, since most logos don't end up as flash animations any way.

Studio MX 2004 with flash profesional,
Adobe photoshop CS and illustrator CS
I have swish max as I was a beta tester for versions 1,2 & MAX, I don't touch the program for my design work, no one in their right mind would request designs to be made in it, has pre-built effects but gives you no room to design. I just bug report for it. The swish max plugin for flash mx 04 pro is good though I hear.
For 3D work I use 3DS MAX 6, Swift 3D if it is for flash.
For Character design, I use a variety of programs, mainly Curious labs poser 5.
I use Corel Bryce 5 for landscapes etc.
I use fontmax 4.6 for my font creation.

Also, winapp to listen to my mp3s.

I feel like I'm one of the few people left that still uses CorelDRAW. :) I'm currently on version 12, and I'm extremely happy with it.

I use adobe illustrator because it has lot of tools and it is just like drawing on paper but easier. Also the output is sharp since the image is not pixelized (not like on Photoshop). I have lots of fun with this software because it loaded with effects. But the problem with it is that I cannot preview the fonts. Overall this is the best software that I can recommend for creating logos and illustrations.
