1. launch your Fireworks application and go to Window-> layers to bring up the "Layers" palette
2.go to "File" -> "Open" and choose a gif file from the "File of type" drop down list
3.Using the "Look in" drop-down list and look for the animated GIF you wish to open. Select the animation file and click "Open".
5. The animated GIF will now open. The final stage of your animation will be in the center of the big white document area. Your layers palette will list the frame of the animation as separate layers.
