Do you have to be good in drawing in order to succeed on this career or you just need a keen sense of sight?

It helps but design can function completely independently of drawing talent. For me I think the most important thing in design is that you have a sense of what looks 'nice', 'cool', 'edgy'(depending on your style). I think you could be rubbish at drawing and still put a successful design together with modern tools.

Just noticed you posted your sketch for yallingup. I really like that design - your colour choice is excellent. My sketches never last long because I'm usually so disgusted with them I throw them away as soon as I can! I very rarely draw up a full concept, I will just put together a rough idea of what I am thinking with pencil and paper to make sure it's going to work then I will draw straight into illustrator with my wacom.

Michael Bierut (vimeo.com/9084072) is one of the more well known and respected graphic designers in the world. On many occasions he even admitted that he cannot draw. He doesn't really use software that much either. He's more of a creative director who is really good at solving design problems

DB: do you think it’s important for a graphic designer to be able to draw?
MB: to be honest, not any more. I would take someone who is able to read over someone who is able to draw any day.

Being able to draw definitely helps in the beginning stages of a design. Utilizing sketching to get an idea across or to lay out a rough outline always speeds up the process.

I believe that the most important thing when creating logos are the correct balance between element and composition, always try to be simple, direct and unique

Drawing or AWESOME illustration is not necessary. You can turn a simple sketch into an awesome 3-d looking logo in AI very easily. SO do not let the fact that illustration is not a strong point for you hinder you from becoming a designer. AI can do alot of the work for you ;)

I agree! I try to add a clever hidden element to each logo design, usually in the negative space.

Do you have to be good in drawing in order to succeed on this career or you just need a keen sense of sight?

It depends on the specific career you're interested in! Here's a breakdown:

Careers that require strong drawing skills:

Animator
Illustrator
Graphic Designer (to some extent)
Comic Book Artist
Character Designer
Careers where a keen eye for detail is important, but drawing ability isn't essential:

Art Director (provides vision, not necessarily execution)
Photographer (needs an eye for composition)
User Experience (UX) Designer (understands visual communication)
Art Curator (needs strong visual analysis skills)
Architect (needs spatial reasoning, not necessarily figure drawing)
Additional factors for success:

Creativity: Regardless of the career, having a creative mind is a major asset.
Communication skills: Being able to convey your ideas clearly is essential.
Technical skills: Many creative fields involve software and technology.
So, don't be discouraged if you're not a master artist. There are many fulfilling creative careers where a keen eye and other skills can lead to success.
