Adobe Illustrator text disappeared

Has anyone updated adobe Illustrator recently since the update any of my work including logos, pdf layouts etc the text layer is there but all text has vanished. not even select able on the art board it doesnt even show up, I have tried checking to see if I have selected no fill or stroke but it is all just invisible with no paths or anything.

I am about to uninstall it and re install it on the off chance I have damaged something but it is a nightmare reinstalling things on cloud as you need to download a special tool to reset cloud so it shows it not as being installed. Just wanted to see if anyone had a quick fix.
