I currently have a Bridge Camera but I find the focus isn't significant enough for my liking. Is there any good reasonably priced DLSR cameras for a beginner?

It might be kind of late on me posting. Definitely Canon Rebel's Ti models. They are an excellent DSLR camera for a $650 price point (body only). I had the earlier model and it was a lot of fun and the photos looked great. If you want to get a full frame professional camera... then I would say start with the Canon's 6D at $1,800 price point.

Its the other way around, there are more affordable Canon Lenses and more 3rd party stuff available for Canon plus Canon can mount even more manual lenses via an adapter than Nikon, even old manual Nikon lenses are quite expensive.I know that Canon's lens & accessories is more costly than Nikon. Is it true?
