Hello fellow designers,
I had a thought that I wanted to try but I felt the need to ask first. Has anyone tried to make a single page layout using only html5/css3 ? All that I have seen use javascript and such but I was wondering if it was possible to cut out the javascript and still have it work and look good. Obviously I know very little javascript that is why I ask.

Yes, you can design a website using only HTML5 and CSS3. There are certain types of interactions that you might want to create using Javascript, such as special button effects and dynamic content built on client interactions. With that said, you would be better off learning how to build a static page with HTML and CSS to understand what the limitations are before jumping into Javascript.

It's totally possible. A top to bottom scrolling page would be the easiest, but I have seen a single page that scrolls left to right. CSS3 added some amazing effects and you can direct people to any specific part of your page with an ID in your anchor tag. Yes I created single-page websites using only HTML and CSS.
The website was amazing except
- it didn't have an hamburger menu for mobile version of the website and
- there was no slider in the hero/top section.
There was only 4 menu items so I displayed them vertically beneath the logo/top bar.
Then used fixed background for the hero section and added some text.
There was also no contact form. Instead provided the contact details.
