Both are good. Depend upon us in which software we can do better and how well we are comfortable.

LOGO design issues
If you understand that Logos MUST be vector files, there is no choice but Illustrator.
If you do not understand what I am saying, you are doomed as a logo designer.
If you cannot submit a vector EPS file in a logo design contest, you will not be paid by most crowd source sites.
Furthermore, Photoshop files are useless in many forms of reproduction, exposing your technical incompetence to the client.
A Photoshop EPS file with a clipping path is insufficient.
Sorry to be so harsh, but you need considerably more education to participate, no matter how creative you are.
There is no getting around this.
Some very smart people who drifted into graphics from programming have found this out the hard way.
Topics for your consideration:
scalability, optimized screen resolution
Vector/bitmap
Color modes: rgb/cmyk/spot color gamut
Reproduction processes: CMYK process, spot color, grayscale, offset printing, web printing, silk screen, flexography, embroidery, video, vinyl signage.
Optimized reproduction on various electronic devices and smartphones
I sincerely hope that this post has been helpful and will also help you avoid catastrophic pitfalls in your graphic design future.
Thanks
