Infractions and Getting Them Lifted

I am brand new and was an idiot and misunderstood the rules regarding images. I was under the impression that if an image was altered and made unrecognizable from the original it was okay to use. I have received 2 infractions, eeek, and was curious as to whether there was any way or anything I could do to get them lifted. I understand they are active for 6 mos from the discovery date. I would appreciate any feedback on the subject. Thank you all. I am taking my medicine as deserved but curious as to other possibilities.
