would you start with your own favorites? ;)

This is actually a very nice thread. We are going to have a download section and if you come accross any interesting fonts which might be interesting for other designers and are free ware, please, let us know.

I have to admit that I have a little obsession with AvantGarde.

Other favourites include Carpenter, Bickham, and Hard Times

I've also been addicted to AvantGarde lately :)

Another good site to use is www.whatthefont.com, if you stumble across a font you like and can't figure out which one it is.

AvantGarde Series
Compacta Series
TimesNewRoman
ArialBlack

I usually use these fonts only cause I use them as base fonts, cause they are good to build custom fonts, and then modify them as I see fit.

I enjoy Trebuchet MS and Georgia. As for third-party fonts, Automaton is very nice.

I'm quite classic I guess ... at the moment, my favorites are Univers and Garamond. Rotis is also an interesting one because of its great variety of serif and sans-serif.

I (like exogen before me) like Trebuchet MS and Georgia -- I also like Century Gothic. However, I really love so many different fonts --- it is all up to the subject that I am designing as to what I choose :)

I'm a trebuchet fan also, and Franklin Gothic. For serifs, I like Georgia. Others I likea are Oz and MarkerFelt. But if I could pay $10,000 to rid the earth of Comic Sans right this moment, I certainly would.

Verdana is always a good solid font.

I also quite enjoy "Futured", it's a perfect font if your looking for "subtle tech" :)
