I don't know what should I say about this but if you have opinion please mention....

Is there a problem with the winning design?

Offhand, the unfortunate winning design looks like it was made in a bitmap program (paint). Lets see if the designer can come up with a vector version. Looks a bit like it came from a weak "logo design" application: click, click, click, bang, plop, squish.

yes I have already addressed this with the winning designer  in finalization area  

Looks something fishy... dont know but admins and experts can look into this.

Do we have any quality standards for the design submission? 

Do admins have watch on the designs submitted?

Do we have a policy to eliminate a design or designer if he/she/entry is not up to the mark?

I am very sorry if I said anything wrong, but this should be the concern.

An EAGLE EYE should be there.... My thought!!!

The only fishy thing is the designer doesn't know how to design or prepare shource files,  the client is legit and so is the contest.. for some reason it  is the design  the client wants

The title: "weak but lucky"
If CH likes and chooses a winner (it's absolutely in the hands of CH).
I think, it does not plagiarize, pure works of its own.
But very weak.

When noticed:
1. the circle is not perfect,
2. square distance is not the same and very bad,
3. colors are filled by gradation and lighting effects,
4. letters created 3D effects and perspective effects.
Consequently generate bitmap.

I think, this is still the learning stage, in processing some things.
While the process or rule in designing the logo is ignored.

Huft .... if logo made with embroidery technique, manual screen printing, sculpture, emboss, etc. (must be very difficult).

He / she is lucky, CH choose as the winner (although other participants are very disappointed, can not do anything about it.This is destiny).

The next process, must have trouble in processing to vector file (DC admin of course will take role).

Positive things to appreciate are:
1. purely the work itself.
2. CH happy and satisfied (amazing)
3. his struggle is not in vain
4. lucky

This is just my opinion ....
Maybe the great designers DC will give opinions also ....

Sense of art or sense of aesthetics between CH and designer "fit and mate"

This is what will happen, client will not get the rquired source files, I will have to step in create becasue designer doesn't know how to create vectors...  that is what it looks like right now

I am so sorry sharie.

Spending valuable time recreating "art" is more than frustrating, it's infuriating.

Does the winning designer get the full prize or does he have to compensate you for your expertise?

Is the designer sending his native files or do you have to work from scratch?

Does this effect the designers points or rating?

What can be done to prevent this technical fail from recurring?

Is the DC policy simply to clean it up, live and learn, and move on?  

I suppose that someone has to follow the parade with a shovel and clean up after the elephants.

I should stop asking questions as I will spend time grinding my teeth while reading answers.

DC  keeps  25 dollars an hr  sometimes  I just send the deisnger  50 to finance page  becasue it is such a complicated design.  The money goes to designcontest as I am an employee

Fixing designs  isn't a bother so much but doing it all the time... I have lost my creative bone. All I do is fix designs or recreate them. My creative mind is lost in never land   LOL

We have one designer............  I cringe when I see win. ALMOST every winning design I have fix.

You would think after the first time of losing money they would clean up their act, but nooooo. At the point I have to step  if I can't make the client happy the contest is refunded and designer banned.  If I can make client happy  I subtract money form winning amount.

The main goal is keep the client happy so no bad review or false review on internet

The ones that bother are the ones that ignore emails and finalization areas.  some will upload files and never come back to finalization  they only upload a zipped jpg  this is what ticks me off.  This designers have had temp bans  for ignoring finalization and emails, funny thing  the only time some will reply to email is if  I tell them  they will be banned and prize money will be sent to DC instead of to them  letting them know they lost the prize money

Any "masterpiece" has his client,tastes are not discussed !!!

I almost spat my coffee out when saw the winning design.  Out of 300+ designs, this is what the client chooses?!  I mean no disrespect to the designer, but the fact that the client chose this design as the winner is an insult to all the designers that actually put thought and time into it, and created attractive, stylish logos.
 

However .. the absolute decision in the hands of contest owners ...

CH and Designer fit and mated, close !!!
